Christmas in Werribee centre 2024
Building on 2023 it was a grinch inspired “welcome to wattville” town for the Christmas theme 2024 in Werribee centre. Keeping the existing tree decorations, the custom Australian artwork discs” and adding key new displays to ensure the whole of the Werribee centre was in the Festive spirit.
Key features included
- 8m pine Christmas tree, steel frame with 2m walk through passage in Station place. Additional flooring and acrylic protection added to the walkthrough with signage on the exterior of the tree. The tree was decorated in red, gold and green with Australiana artwork covered ACM discs in various sizes.
- Update of the piazza elf house to create a Wattville house with colours and style inspired by the Grinch movies. The House setup included bedroom, Wattville post office and kitchen spaces.
- A 3m Christmas wreath hung outside the cultural centre on Watton street, using existing truss structures permantly installed on site.. The cultural centre was closed so this was a great opportunity to decorate and activate this dormant location. The wreath was decorated to match the main Station place Christmas tree
- A custom “Welcome to Wattville” arch and sign for a large photo opportunity, at the piazza and entrance to the river and park. The photo opportunity lit up at night and provided a wonderful accessible photo moment for visitors walking through the city to the park.
- Removable decals placed on the existing city centre wayfinder signage, mirroring the wattville theming. The wayfinder signs are distrubted across the city including council offices
- 2m tall pole/ bollard wraps on key intersections of Watton street reinforcing the Christmas message and providing a link between Station place and the piazza installations.
Wattville Activation
Additionally council hosted a movie night in December, hosting the Grinch movie and utilising our Large Sleigh and reindeers for a fun photo moment during the evening.
