Experience French film in Melbourne
The 36th Alliance Française French Film Festival AF FFF , running from March 5 to April 9, 2025, features 42 films across nine cinemas, including The Kino at Collins Square, with special events and activations run throughout the festival. With its diverse and captivating film lineup and a vibrant program of special events, the AF FFF is the perfect launchpad for another extraordinary year of cultural activities in Australia. Our brief was to provide a beautiful French film display with a french inspired backdrop for highlighting the film festival and provide a French film display for key activations during the festival such as an illustrator and macron giveaways.
Cine Collins
- Cherry blossom cascades down the facade, which is reminescent of a Parisian cafe.
- Flower boxes sit at the base of the windows.
- A table and chairs encourages this illusion and gives visitors a chance to sit and take a snap.
The ‘window’ design includes:
- 3D window frame and awning
- 3D flowerbox
- 3D table and chairs
- 3D cherry blossom flowers overhead
- photographic cobblestone floor deca
The design considered the unique environment for the display with an inside / outside location. Weather had to be considered for high winds and potential public use during off-peak times. A set design was confirmed with site facilities to confirm weights and safety to patrons.
35 Collins Competition
Collins Place, located at the “Paris end” of Collins Street in Melbourne, is a landmark complex comprising iconic office towers, a luxury hotel (Sofitel Melbourne on Collins), a cinema complex (Kino), and a vibrant retail plaza with dining and fashion store. 35 Collins requested an additional display to allow office tower tenants the opportunity to join in the festival and win a prize. The additional VM pod display was located in the ground floor of 35 Collins and the brief was to match the theming and colours of the larger French film display in the site entrance. Custom tall boards displayed the instructions for entry for the tenants.
