t 120 Collins Street, the vaulted foyer was transformed into a sophisticated sustainable Christmas display, where timeless festive styling met innovative, sustainable design.
As the first Christmas following the foyer’s renovation, the brief called for a bold, designer fpcused installation that would make an immediate visual impact while reinforcing a clear sustainability message. The result was a layered, immersive environment combining lush greenery, refined red and silver tones, and architectural ribbon detailing, paired with a contemporary range of recycled paper Christmas decorations sourced from India.
Design Highlights
The installation was anchored by large-scale statement pieces designed specifically for high-end commercial environments:
- 6m feature Christmas tree in deep pine green, styled with an oversized double bow and cascading ribbon tails for strong vertical impact
- 5m honeycomb paper Christmas tree in charcoal, delivering a modern sculptural contrast to traditional elements
- 3m interactive Countdown to Christmas calendar, driving engagement with daily activations and prize opportunities
- Extensive Christmas garland installations flowing across lift columns and mezzanine balustrades, punctuated with red satin bows for rhythm and cohesion
- Reception concierge garland creating a polished, welcoming focal point at entry
- Curated display pods featuring illuminated 1m baubles and honeycomb paper trees, blending traditional and contemporary styling
- Tabletop sustainable decorations placed throughout casual dining and seating areas to extend the experience across the space
Sustainable Design Approach
A key feature of the project was the integration of a modern, reusable Christmas decoration range, designed specifically for commercial application. At the centre stood the world’s first 5m recycled traditional honeycomb paper Christmas tree, an innovative, low-impact alternative to traditional artifical greenery structures. This collection delivers both visual impact and operational efficiency for commercial clients.
