I am sure you have seen them, they were everywhere in 2024, and they are not going away in 2025. Big ones, little ones, sparkly and satin. Christmas BOWS BOWS BOWS and more bows were the favourite decoration trend for 2024 and we love them here at the Festive store.
From silky satin ribbons to deep rich velvet, bows are everywhere. And you can not go to big. Oversize or small, Christmas bows can adorn all your decor – tying each piece together through beautiful ribbons. Tie them on your garlands, the front door wreath and of course your Christmas tree.
“Bows are also a quick and easy way to transform your existing Christmas decor as they can be added to just about any scheme,” suggests Danielle Le Vaillant, Head of Photography & Film at Cox & Cox.
Swap your baubles for bows, and not just one – go crazy. Add drama with oversize or long tails, or a nod to vintage with small retro coloured bows repeated everywhere. And you are not tied to your traditional Christmas colours. Strong colours, pastels or plaid, keep it consistent and you can go anywhere in the colour pallette.

The one Christmas decoration you need in your home for 2024 /2025– no matter your colour scheme.
Christmas bows big and small
“Bows have become a Christmas icon thanks to their versatility, from tree decorations and table dressing to gift wrapping and even becoming an alternative to traditional door wreaths,” says Lisa Cherry, Christmas Category Lead at John Lewis & Partners.
“When styling Christmas bows, context is everything,” says Alick Burnett, Managing Director at Blooming Artificial. “For an elegant table setting, use smaller bows to dress up napkin rings or attach them to faux centrepieces for a polished look. It’s all about enhancing, not overwhelming. With artificial garlands, don’t be afraid to position bows unevenly – perhaps clustering more around corners or focal points. This technique creates a sense of movement and energy.”
